(i) RECREATION RULES:
**BOATING RULES
MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF OHIO'S BOATER EDUCATION LAW Persons born on or after January 1, 1982 who operate a boat in Ohio powered by more than 10 horsepower* must provide proof of boater education. There are several ways to meet this requirement. You can meet Ohio's Boater Education requirement by taking and passing an approved boating education course (classroom, online, or home study), or by taking and passing a proficiency exam.

(ii) FISHING RULES:
**OHIO FISHING REGULATIONS: You can go fishing year-round, but it's important to be aware of Ohio's fishing regulations. The laws can be different for fishing specific waters and catching certain fish species. Review the current Ohio Fishing Regulations and find a list of license options by downloading the regulations booklet.

(iii) RULES FOR SHOOTING RANGES:
**HUNTER SAFETY AND TRAPPER EDUCATION All hunter education courses will be conducted and administered in accordance with policies and procedures established by the chief. Volunteer instructors must possess a valid ohio hunter education instructor certification card at the time they conduct a course. The official course of instruction will be established by the chief. Instructors will obtain student manuals and other training materials for their courses from the division of wildlife. Courses shall be conducted statewide. Courses shall be free of charge with the exception that volunteers may charge nominal fees, in accordance with policies established by the chief, to cover training costs such as facility fees.

Industrial Rules

(iv) MINING INDUSTRY RULES:
**LAWS AND REGULATIONS FOR COAL MINING AND RECLAMATION The Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (SMCRA) was a landmark federal law that established stringent national standards for coal mining and reclamation. SMCRA created the federal Department of the Interior's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE). Because of the diverse coal mining conditions in the United States, Congress intended that the states become the primary regulator. Each state proposes its own laws and regulations for the coal mining industry. These laws and regulations must meet or exceed federal standards and are subject to approval by the Secretary of the Interior. This procedure allows individual states to gain primacy control over the regulation of surface mining. The Secretary of the Interior approved both the Coal Regulatory and Abandoned Mine Lands portions of Ohio's primacy program in 1982. OSMRE provides federal oversight of Ohio's program..
LAWS AND REGULATIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL MINERALS SURFACE MINING AND RECLAMATION "The Ohio Mineral Resources Management Agancy, Division of Mineral Resources Management (DMRM) regulates Ohio's industrial minerals surface mining operations under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 1514 (the law) and Ohio Administrative Code Chapters 1501:14-1 to 1501:14-6 (the rules).

(v) DRILLING FOR OIL & GAS:
**ANALYSIS AND DISPOSITION OF MATERIAL: Ohio law governing the analysis and disposition of material that results from the construction, operation, or plugging of a horizontal well. This law regulates technologically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive materials (TENORM) in oil and gas operations
DUTY TO RESTORE DISTURBED LAND Ohio law governing the duty of a well owner to restore disturbed land during the siting, drilling, completion and production of a well
OIL WELL DRILLING Regulations for the permitting, construction and oversight of Oil well drilling.

(vi) WELL PLUGGING:
**PLUGGING AT EXPENSE OF OPERATOR Ohio law allowing plugging of an abandoned well whose existence is detrimental to the mine operation, the mine operator may plug the well.
PLUGGING OF WELLS Rules and regulations related to the permitting, process, inspection and oversight of oil and gas well plugging.
RULES FOR METHODS OF PLUGGING Ohio law requiring a well to be plugged in accordance with adopted rules before being abandoned.
